I thought this piece did an outstanding job of relating love to an object we all understand. Everybody has a favorite shirt, and some share it, just as we all have the ability to pronounce our love but some choose to hold it in, waiting for the right moment.

As I read, I thought of how many times I told someone I cared but somehow it didn’t mean the same to them as it did to me. The act of giving away love must be done with care, and it must be given to someone you trust. I can say with confidence that nobody would entrust a favorite shirt to somebody unreliable. So why would they trust that person with their love? Kim provided a fresh approach to the old subject of love.
