I have to say that I agree with Rami. Although insects seem disgusting, they have so many benefits for us and the world. As Rami said, “Compared to livestock, insects are better in almost every way. The health benefits, environmental benefits, and societal benefits will transform the way we look at the cricket in our bathroom.” Insects are a healthy source of protein with a minimal carbon footprint and require only a small amount of resources, which helps the environment. So why not?

Well, the cultural bias. Rami wrote: “Insect consumption is seen as a third-world practice by Americans. Sadly, this bias is hindering our ability to see its many benefits.” I personally don’t think I would be able to convert myself to insects, and many others probably agree. However, if we get our children used to that idea, we could effect a gradual change in the way we perceive the concept of a six-legged lunch.
