Truth or Dare-a popular game played by children worldwide. However, playing games as such causes children to feel self-conscious about themselves, with everyone pressuring victims of the game to do something dangerous or tell a secret. In Nathalie Chicoine’s “I Hate Truth or Dare,” she demonstrates being self-conscious from being asked if she “likes someone.”  She pondered upon whether she was considered “normal” because she didn’t like anyone.
Chicoine depicts how she felt abnormal for not feeling an attraction for anyone like everybody else seems to. She states “having a crush isn’t important, accepting yourself is.” Her article closes off on a strong note, mentioning how it is more important to love yourself first than to worry about loving others. She taught me the significance in accepting who I am.
