In “Sticks and Stones” by Siana, it describes the pain that the words we speak, as individuals cause.  In the first paragraph she states “If you throw a stick or a stone at someone, a bruise may appear for a week and the pain will soon subside. But if you stab somebody with the wrong words, they may end up with an agonizing wound that will forever ache deep beneath their skin.”  She is stating that throwing sticks or stones will pain an individual for a short amount of time but the words spoken to that person will pain them for a lifetime.  The more things sad to a person the deeper the “wound” gets.
