As teenagers, we live in a society set on making us hate ourselves and our bodies. Perhaps, this is why "To Our Collective Body" by Daisy Blossom Doty struck such a chord in me. The piece is a beautifully written reminder to love yourself and your appearance, a reminder that is not and can not be said enough. The poem encompasses bodies of every shape, every color, and every circumstance, and manages to serve as a relatable reality-check that we are all perfect in our imperfections. Doty's breathtakingly passionate writing leaves the reader both touched and empowered. It's a beautiful piece of writing that lets readers see the world and the people around us, not to mention ourselves, in a different light
