Although I can not relate to Violet Peterborough's article personally, I admire her for sharing such an insightful event in her life. Her prestigious writing makes the reader feel as if they are there and experience what she felt. She demonstrates courage as a result of informing higher authorities about gun possession at school. She is labeled “Gun Girl” which in modern cases could could be frowned down upon as a “snitch.” The truth is, she felt endangered and did what she felt was right and suffered from pondering about such event. I think the message portrayed is that you can't let society render your conscious conflictions of safety. Thank you Violet Peterborough for demonstrating how telling someone over a dangerous situation is never a bad thing.
