The memoir "Shattered," by Jill Goldman sure did shatter my heart into tiny pieces because of how extremely well written and intensely moving it was. This piece was about a girl losing her grandmother, who died in a car accident. Jill's grandmother was very meaningful and valuable to her. Her death greatly traumatized Jill and made her experience the five stages of grief: denial, guilt, anger, depression, and acceptance. Anyone who has lost a loved one before will relate to this memoir.

This piece was especially relatable and moving to me because my grandma also got into a car accident. The line "Everybody else cried. I didn't," made me remember the tragic day because my mom was hysterically crying and so were my family members, but I had not shed a tear. People who did not lose a loved one will still enjoy reading this story because it is brilliantly written, touching, and eye-opening.
