Dear TeenInk,

I love your magazines, and for the most part I find them well balanced. One of the exceptions in the balance is the non-fiction section. In my opinion the non-fiction stories are one of the key aspects of the magazine, due to their messages projected and how relatable they are. I feel that these stories deserve more than three pages (Amount of non-fiction pages in the March issue of TeenInk).

I think a possible solution to this issue is cutting back on the size of the poetry section. I understand that the majority of your submissions are poetry (An editor’s response in the March issue), and you try to include as many as possible, but I think 10 pages is excessive. I am actually a fan of the poetry, but I still can’t power through more than five or six pages without getting sick of it.

I believe that cutting just two or three pages from the poetry in return for some extra non-fiction would greatly improve the TeenInk magazines. I hope you consider this idea.

Sincerely,
A.J. W.
