I found Heather's poem to be somewhat confusing. The title is "When I Am Old," but what does that have to do with candles and a house burning? Is the burning house resembling the aging body? Does the candles resemble some source of natural destruction or is it the other way around? The candles represent the dying body, and the house are those the person left behind. Is this true? I do not understand.
