Narrative of a Gay Asian Kid

November 29, 2012
"Narrative of a Gay Asian Kid" tells the story from a, well, a gay asian kid's point of view. Not “gay” as any typical teenager would describe things. Gay as in being attracted to guys.

Jaemin tells his story from a hopeful perspective. Despite being bullied by other boys, Jaemin wrote in a way that didn't make him sound like he was complaining. he spoke in a rather positive way. He proved that he “...was more than a gay stereotype.” Jaemin had made friends that looked pat his sexual orientation and liked him for who he was. This meant even more for the teens who are being bullied because they are gay, lesbian, or bisexual. It gives them hope.

I admire Jaemin for speaking up about this personal subject. That is a common issue but is rarely spoken about. Thank you, Jaemin. Thank you for giving hope to people like you. Thank you for raising awareness of this problem.
