I recently read the September issue of Teen Ink, I chanced upon a poem entitled "And We All Fall Down." I felt compelled to respond to this wonderful piece and share my own similar sentiments. I thought the poem captured the essence of not only the 9/11 terrorist attacks but how life and everything we know and love is fleeting. It begins "Seven years, seven years it took to build those massive towers....." and it ends with "the towers that took seven years to build crumbled in 30 seconds." I believe Ms. Comerford accurately describes how long it takes to make these beautiful works of art, and how fragile they are. Noting that something that can take so long, can be destroyed in a matter of seconds.
