I disagree with Nicolette D in her article "A Failing College". It is true that back in the day a electoral college was the easiest way for them to elect a president and now we have technology to get a vote from everybody ;however, the electoral college was created to protect the people from electing someone based on emotion. The founding fathers knew what they were doing when they created the electoral college. If the United States picked a president by popular vote a majority of people voting would not know what the person they are voting for is about. There are just not that many people who would put in the time and effort to research a candidate to make an educated vote. Nicolette has some good points ,but she needs to look at the bigger picture.
