In Cara’s article “Taking Back Control” she explained what its like to be raped and how she handled it after. After she was raped she told her friend the next morning but they didn’t tell anyone for awhile. When they went to the hospital they said it was to late to get any evidence about it.
She explains how most people don’t understand the meaning of rape. She says if you haven’t been a victim than you wouldn’t understand the pain and physical discomfort.
She later talks about how she became self-destructive. She stopped eating and became very skinny. She started drinking and smoking at only 15!
Overall, I like that she is not afraid to talk about it and that she can rise above it instead of being denial for life. I am glad that I read this article and I hope this inspires others to do so to.
