The poem “I Want to Kill Myself” by Samantha Faulkner brought tears to my eyes. I have had thoughts of ending my life, but when I read Samantha's work I knew suicide wasn't the answer. Hate is what is destroying me, and I am glad that Samantha expressed it the way she did.

I never realized until now that I had so many painful things inside me. Samantha used her poem to show that there is more to life than hate, pain, pride, hurt, and misery. Love is what's needed to mend a broken soul. She lets the memories of the good times emerge, and says that she wants people to look back and have good memories of her.

Samantha inspired me to change, and I hope she inspires others too.
