Reading “End the D.A.R.E Dynasty” brought me back to when I was 12 or 13 years old and the writing took the words completely out of my mouth. Honestly, I believe that children in middle school don’t understand the effects that drugs and alcohol would have on them at such a young age anyway. However, if the D.A.R.E program was showed to high school students, they would pay no attention to a simple slide or poster. If schools were to pull in a couple people who have actually dealt with alcoholism and abuse of drugs, students would understand better what actually happens rather than reading it on a poster or off of a slide. If it wasn’t for that, I think that the D.A.R.E programs should be completely cut-off from the school curriculum.
