“The Youth” by Kirby Wright was a well written piece about a teenage girl’s perspective of her two little sisters horse playing. It perfectly described the situation on a light-hearted, nostalgic way. The article brought back childhood memories of when my brother and I would wrestle and practically tear the house apart, as did these young girls.
I love the way Kirby talked about how the cops would burst in any moment to see what all the ruckus was, only to discover two children fooling around. She wishes to join in on their silly games, but her time has come and gone, as has ours. The message of this is to enjoy your youth and to be a kid for as long as you can; it doesn’t last forever.
