In the poem “War Paint” Erika Arellano explains how the girls who put on make up and are mean to everyone else use their looks and attitudes as weapons. Everyone wants to be like these girls.
This piece caught my attention, because I live on a small island and this happens where I live. The girls wear all the make up and are mean to everyone to make them jealous of their looks and money. It really doesn’t matter what you look like or how much money you have. I completely agree with the writer about it being like war, but with looks and attitudes as weapons.
