In the September 2011 issue, the author Bea Kealy wrote “How to Shine.” This story is about the high school lifestyle and all the cliques and how they work. There is basically no way around it, but if we tried hard enough, we could have a brighter future.

The weird thing about this writing is that it is so true. I agree with everything she says, “our happiness/kindness does just vanish and all our friends are no longer real, we all become fake in a fake world. At Ayersville, people say since it’s a small school everyone gets along. Well, they are wrong. There are still cliques and bullies and wannabes--except for the fact that everyone ignores it and it doesn’t matter. This selection doesn’t surprise me at all because we all know it’s true.
