In Ryan Guidry’s “The World’s Favorite Sport” from the September 2011 Teen Ink issue, he talks about how soccer is widely popular throughout the world, making it “The World’s Favorite Sport.” Soccer has many positive aspects such as increasing education, solidarity, being apart of a team and working with others. Soccer also has had a huge economic impact in many countries. It employs more people by giving more jobs to people when new stadiums are built or when there are tournaments. Even though soccer may be popular in other countries, it is not in the United States. The U.S. has a soccer team, but normally Americans aren’t into soccer as much as they are into football or baseball. Soccer seems more of an international sport. Personally, I like soccer and enjoy watching and playing it.
