In the latest poll published on Teen Ink's website, readers were asked which type of social networking they used most. Facebook and Myspace, among others, were the options offered. There was one glaring oversite, however; there was no option for those who do not use social networking sites. Perhaps this would go unnoticed by others, but this is, admittedly, a subject near and dear to my heart. In our modern age, many people assume that everyone social networks (yes, I just made up a new verb... hooray!) in some way. But, I don't. I had a Facebook account but deleted it a few moths ago. I thought it would be impossible to live without, but I certainly survived. Since then, I've even written an essay for my Honors Literature class about the societal effects of social networking.I know most teens social network. It would be nice for those of us who don't to be recognized too.
