I was touched when I read “One Hill in Sarajevo” by “Martha.” This article was wonderfully written and very eloquent. I was glad to see the harsh reality of war depicted so accurately. It helped the reader understand why the author and her mother were so moved by visiting her mother’s childhood home, which was all but destroyed. Many people have gone with their parents to the towns they grew up in or they have heard stories of their parents’ childhood. This article was an extreme example of traveling down memory lane, but it was easy to identify with, which made it even better.
