I give major credit to Kelly Loftus who constructed the poem, “Hello My Name Is”. This poem is not only strong, but as well gives her readers something to connect and relate to. She acknowledges all the negative effects of being insecure and how it can control a person’s life. In her last stanza her words are full of hope and leave you feeling confident and comfortable with who you are.

“Hello My Name Is” had a very strong message to me and I think it is a poem that can easily speak to all teenagers of both genders. Kelly Loftus did an incredible job getting her message across to her readers. Out of all the poems in this issue of Teen Ink, this specific poem stood out to me the most.
