I was really able to relate to Carmela since she is an African American who has a white friend (which some don't like). I've always had quite a few white friends. A few of my black friends would wonder why I was so close to them or would think that I was neglecting them for my white friends.
But that was never the case. I'm just a social person and draw friends of all races. I've never seen anything wrong with that. Today, my friends and I all have friends of different races and don't categorize them as being smarter or better, just as being human.
