I could not agree more with this article. Havnig experienced Chinese New Year(Tet) with my family, I know exactly the feeling of this annual event. In the article, the author touches briefly on boys dancing as lions. I'm personally in a lion dance "crew" which consists of over 15 members, male and female. We willingly give up our time with family to perform and celebraet with the community. We bring Chinese New Year to the eldars, parents, and chilren, who scream in delight at the sight of a large, yellow, blinking lion. Of course, families routinely gather to play board games or gamble. There are so many ways to bring the Chinese New Year.
