"Discrimination" by Angie G.made me think. She wrote, "I was born and raised in America and never had todeal with reactions to my Middle-Eastern appearance." After September 11,though, her parents were afraid for her safety. People gave her hateful looks, and someone called her aunt "the devil." First, I thought about who myfriends and I joke about at lunch. I never say mean things to people personally, but now I know that even jokes aren't acceptable.

It also made me thinkabout how the public treats these people now. It is un-American. I believe thatmost Arabic and Islamic people think the same things everyone else does aboutterrorists.
