In “The Art of Conversation,” Theresa explains that although the amount (and forms) of communication has increased, the depth of those conversations has decreased. I could not agree more. So much time is spent trying to chatter away to all who will listen, yet not enough time is spent thinking about what is being said.

Teens find it difficult to hold a meaningful conversation because it requires a degree of knowledge of themselves which can only be attained through serious effort, effort teens would rather use to figure out how to beat a video game. We need to make the effort to spend more time having significant conversations and less time trying to show off how much we can say.
