In Ellen B's article “Rebuilding Hope” she wrote about cleaning up debris after Hurricane Katrina. This inspiring ­article about a small church group helping an 80-year-old pastor made me want to go down to New Orleans to help too.

I remember the tragic day of the storm and cannot believe it has already been four years. The roaring winds and the disease-filled floodwaters made me wonder how anyone in New Orleans survived at all. My brother's church group traveled there to help out one year. He described his feelings about his volunteer efforts the same way Ellen did: insignificant.

I hope that more people read Ellen's article because it gives an excellent description of the devastation that took place – and how there is still a lot of work to be done.
