I think “Car Ride” by Alexandra P. from Westport, CT displayed how most teens typically feel on car rides: bored and anxious. At least that's how I feel on a car ride. Alexandra shows that she is board and anxious when she is talking about how she can not wait until the car ride is over.

I, like Alexandra, often find myself thinking about miscellaneous things while sitting in the car for long periods of time, “I can’t keep my mind on one subject,” she says. It is hard to be traveling in a car and think of one thought while so many things are passing, forcing new thoughts into your head. The idea that Alexandra can’t think of one topic is show when her piece is going from making up a story about her dad’s job, to the passing scenery, to what she has learned in school . Alexandra did a fantastic job of describing a car ride.
