The writing titled, "Triggered: Sexual Violence Survivors & PTSD," written by Lisa, talks about the aftermath and triggers of sexual assault. Her writing left me feeling a sense of relatability. "Zero seconds- that's how long it's been since I last thought about sexual assault," is a perfect way of showing how a person's mind works after being assaulted. I myself have been asaulted and been through all the legal actions regarding it. It consumes your body. Mentally, physically, and emotionally it just consumes a person. Even after the assault you still have to deal with the horrible trauma. Though I would never wish this on anyone, it has taught people how to grow from the bad and to become a stronger person. A great way of thinking about it is, "We are impacted but not defined by the atrocities which befell us."
