The writing titled “A letter to My Middle School Self,” written by Patience K., talks about who she used to be as a middle schooler. Her writing left me feeling curious. I was curious because it made me start thinking about how I was when I was in middle school and the mistakes I may have made or things that I achieved. When she wrote, “You’re not as big as you think you are,” I realized that I was a lot smaller than I am now. I thought that I was on top of the grade “food chain” last year, but now I realize that I am just the beginning. She had also said, “Maybe if you did that, for once in your life, you’d feel powerful.” It made me think of all of the things that I could’ve said in certain arguments or conversations, but never got the chance to. This article made me think of how I could have been better in the past.
