Today, I will be strong. I will wake up despite the pain. I will open my blinds to find comfort in the rain. I will kiss my family while I still can. Today, I will be positive—unlike yesterday.
Today, I will forgive myself for being human. I will accept my mistakes. I will create a remedy for my sunken heart. I will take a moment to admire the glisten in my father’s eyes when he sees my smile. Today, I will release all negativity—unlike yesterday.
Today, I will be gentle with my feelings. I will pamper my ill mindset. I will convert struggle into progress. I will see the beauty in my best friend’s concern. Today, I will write the sorrow away—unlike yesterday.
Today, I will stand up to my anxiety and break my depression—and forget yesterday.

I have been struggling with OCD since I was a young girl, too innocent to understand. These feelings of anxiety and depression sometimes knock me down for periods of time. Writing is my way out of it. These are words to live by--my own medication.
