   the garden cries out

pain and discomfort

gum wrappers, cigarette butts

choking it, cutting off its circulation

the garden screams

its face distorted

tire tracks crushed its corner

styrofoam flutters over the plants

once green with life

they now lie down

suffocating

yellow-brown leaves sprawl over dry soil

calling out for water

taking their last gasping breaths
