Feeding 4,000 MAG

By Anonymous

"Wefeed 4,000 people every day," said Edward, the kitchen supervisor at St.Vincent de Paul. Four thousand people, that's a lot.

Every Sunday, myfriends and I go to St. Vincent de Paul, which is a refuge for the homeless, andvolunteer for our school service hours. Or is it just for the service? Isometimes wonder. There, we prepare food for the week. We cut onions, peppers anda whole lot more. In fact, this past Sunday we opened 1,400 cans of potatoes.Opening 1,400 cans of potatoes does not sound like a lot of fun, but we did itfor the people. When I think about it in that way, waking up at 8 a.m. is notbad. Instead of spending my Sunday at home doing nothing, I spend it helping feedpeople. Feeding 4,000 people is something I take a lot of pride in.
