"We are the stuff that dreams are made of." ~William Shakespeare; Prospero- The Tempest

I know I am doomed
As the knife pierces my skin
Blood drips from the wound
As I dig deeper
I can feel them stair
At the scars on my arms
I don’t think it’s fair
They think they are better than me
I know we all have flaws
Mine are just easier to see

People can be cruel. This tells the story of my depression and helps the reader see that they are not alone in the world. I never encourage self harm, but i will never tell a person who has cut that what they did was wrong. This poem is to show the reader that depression is not impossible to overcome.

Thanks, Its always nice to have feedback from fellow writers. I'm glad to also hear feedback from somebody who goes through what I go through every day. My heart goes out to you and know that you are not alone in this.

"But without the dark, we would never see the stars"

This is really good. Its short, and to the point. It desccribed how other people react to the scars that they see, also, which i think is cool. Self harm is absolutly a horribal thing to get into, and something I personally battle everyday. I like this poem alot though. good work!
