Sticks and Stones

When I was younger I watched T.V. and I would hear the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” As I got older I found this saying to be untrue. I believe that at a certain point some people would prefer to be hit by a stick.

The worst part about verbal bullying is it doesn’t get much attention. Maybe because people think it’s easier to ignore a word than a fist. It’s not. It is just as hard if not harder.

It’s unreasonable that the bullying that hurts the most receives the least amount of attention. No one even pays attention to bullying until it becomes physical.

Maybe the person who came up with the saying felt like he was being hit with rocks.
