High School students are always thinking ahead. Whether, it’s about college or the upcoming sport season. According to recent studies, come 2012, we might not get the chance to think ahead.

The Mayan Long Count Calendar comes to an abrupt ending on December 21, 2012. The researchers are predicting tsunamis, earthquakes, glaciers, and volcanic eruptions to occur at 11:11 a.m. Scientists are theorizing that this is Mayan’s prediction of the end of the world. This idea has been in the limelight ever since Daniel Pinchbecks book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, came out in 2006. Pinchbeck says that we are the problem. He says it is man-kind’s bad judgment that is causing the world to end. Some researchers agree that the apocalypse is only a few years away others believe that this is simply a hoax to create publicity for the new movie, 2012, released on November 13th.

Believe what you want, but what if the Mayan Calendar is right? Where will you be when the day comes?
