One bullet was all it took. In old western films, they show cowboys making valiant last stands. Taking several rounds of bullets, yet standing up, facing their perpetrator despite looming doom. I mean, has anyone ever cited those films for just how damn unrealistic they are? If the average human can stand that many rounds, the Cubs will win the World Series, and forget pigs flying- they'll be right out on Mars. A bullet, regardless of being aimed well, hurts more than, well, anything. As it [side note: the bullet] hurdled toward me, I noticed a curve in its path. Like a nasty slider, thrown by Mariano Rivera. And this one hit the strike zone. And with that one bullet, I, [Name of Character], was no more.
