Darkness

Darkness flew across the ground, eating up the space around her until it latched onto her eyelids and dragged them down. She felt it crawl into her mouth, sliding against her tongue, teeth, and cheeks. It slid up her nostrils, weighing down her sinuses, making her head hit the ground. Finally, it wrapped itself around her throat, digging in its claws until she couldn’t breathe. As the last of her limbs went limp and numb, she felt her mind disintegrate into nothing and the last of her thoughts slipped away into the darkness.
