There was an electricity in the air. The crowd quieted as the lights dimmed for the main show: The Great Charles, Amazing Magician.
“Oooooh! Aaahhhh!” Pigeons materialized, minds were probed, correct cards guessed.
Then: Grand Finale.
“I’ll need a volunteer!”
Moments later, a statued audience stared into two bleeding halves of woman, in separate boxes.
