It was a dark and stormy night. The wind was howling and the branches scraped the windows. Suddenly, there was a scream. I ran upstairs to see what it was, because I was the only one at home. I didn’t see anyone, so I ran into my room, and turned on the lights, but unfortunately for me the power was out.

I hid under my covers, and I peered out from under them. Suddenly, my bedroom door began to open and close many times, in a paranormal manner. I ripped my covers off immediately and I screamed, I was so terrified, so I sprinted out of my room and towards the stairs. I made a sharp left turn to go down the stairs, but I accidently slipped, and rolled down the steps, which each step giving a hard blow to my fragile body.

I was so scared though, that as soon as I hit the ground, I got immediately back to my feet and I sprinted towards my front door. As soon as I reached the door, I could see the locks lock, and when I pulled my door, I tried unlocking the lock, but it wouldn’t budge. Suddenly, my lamp in my kitchen flickered on and off as it sent shivers down my spine just watching it. I ran to my back door in my kitchen, but it was locked too. I was locked in my own house, with no where to go.

I ran into my living room and with no other choice, got on my knees and began to scream. After a gruesome one minute of screaming, the lights turned on, and the storm stopped. The sun glared in through the window, and it shined on my face, making my eyes strain. The next thing I knew, I had my eyes open staring at my blue ceiling, while the morning sunlight shined on my face. I woke up, and luckily for me, it was all a dream.

it was great up to the part where it was 'just a dream'. you should have put something from the dream on the bed next to the character to give cliffhanger. Other than that its a great story :)
