"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Shame on you."

It was a cloudy, crisp winter morning in Santa Monica. A woman had decided to put on her coat and go for a walk to the pier. Once she had gotten there, to the end of the pier, she saw… Dolphins! Why were they here this time of year? They should be further south, she thought. Anyways, she continued to look out into the ocean, the waves were lapping. The sun was just beginning to rise behind her, warming her back. Then, she noticed something. On the beach this time, it resembled a dolphin in size. It wasn’t a man, no. It was black in color. It was moving now… Fast! The thing then lunged at her, almost in slow motion. “NO!”

She woke up. The windows were damp with condensation from deep, heavy breathing in a dream. She decided to go outside and get fresh air. It was raining outside, and the air was cool. She opened her eyes, as if finally waking up. The thing was on the sidewalk, staring.
