"Nothing I could ever write would help you understand this life" (Motionless In White

Door hinges creak as we step inside the forbidden
raising your finger to your lips, you motion me to stay quiet
I nod my head in response, tendrils of hair fall onto my face
I raise my hand to my face, sweeping the hair to the side
but
before I can unmask my face from the dark hair
you rest your hand near my face
look into my gazing eyes
and shake your head.
“Leave it” you whisper
then, as if our closeness sealed our doom,
you back away, turning around in the process
You step over so carefully forward, leaving me to ponder over the past
I roll my eyes, sigh, and step forward
diving into the future.
“This way” you murmur, cautiously leading the way
your pace is rather quick and I fall behind
but
this is the pace in which seers walk
for
every detail is essential to the entire picture.
“Wait” I gasp, my eyes falling upon something inviting
You spin around, curiosity flooding your face
“What?” Your eyebrows furrow, your voice hints with irritation
I let my body do the talking as I step toward the wall, pointing upwards
You squint, trying to decipher the darkness
I grab your hand and pull you forward, onto another path
“Up” I say
Without giving you time to respond, I begin to climb
The wall is sturdy and I am strong
I grab the beam that lies above me,
swing my feet over
and I’m up.
You look up from below me and smile
I beckon you with a bend of my finger
“Take the path less traveled by” I recite
You grimace in response, disappointed with my choice of words
“How original” you mutter as you climb the wall
“Hmm. I got one.” I claim, biting my lips in amusement.
“Do you now?” Your quizzical tone pleases me.
I wink and balance myself on one leg
“Stop! You could fall” Your voice comes out rushed as you reach out for me
“What’s life without a little fun, eh?” I stick my tongue out at you as I place my foot on another beam.
You rolls your eyes, unamused with my carelessness
“So, are you going to tell me what you thought of?” You slyly ask, curiosity flooding your voice.
“I think a lot of thoughts, you should specify which one you would like to hear” I chime, smirking as I turn my back towards you.
A heavy sigh escapes your lips as you place your hand on my shoulder, spinning me around.
“Well?” Your brown eyes peer into mine, grasping for any indication of thought
“If you must know...” I bite my lip, glancing down at my feet.
“Tell me!” You demand, lifting my chin up with your pointer finger.
“Sometimes we have to forget in order to live, but in other moments we need to remember in order to breathe” I whisper, letting the words sink in. Before you can say a single word, I jump from the beam, casually landing on my feet. I turn towards the door, and without another word, run out of it.
This was in the past. I was in the present. My future was yet to be decided.

The actual setting of this piece is true, however the rest is fiction. I like to write as if this were to have happened in the actual setting. I am a very philosophical person and like to tie experiences to ideas about the world. This piece may come off as confusing but I believe that after further analysis one may find this piece to be enlightening in some way. Hope you enjoyed it!
