She is always so guarded, I think, as I watch a single tear slip down her cheek after I steal a kiss from her most heavenly of lips. She raises a cold, pale finger to mine before I can whisper my love to her. And she presses her lips to them and her body close to mine, wrapping her arms around me until the cradle my shoulder blades. I am frozen and before I can react, she pulls away. My arms reach out but grab nothing but air. I open my eyes and they immediately start to tear up for both sadness and anger. For there is only air for me to see.
I cry out and my hands hit glass. The pain does not phase me like the pain in my heart. I fall to my knees and cover my eyes, mixing tears with blood. Cold arms wrap around my neck and her hair falls around my face like a curtain. Closing my eyes, I breathe in her scent. Kissing my forehead, she pulls away for a second time. I dare not search for her again...
