I glanced at the gold diamond faceted ring.

He waited for an answer, but it never came. After awhile the silence grew too heavy.

“I love you,” he whispered, then left.

Was he just going to ignore that the ring wasn’t on my finger? That I hadn’t said yes?

The author's comments:
I wrote this fifty word story (if it can even be called a story) for a creative writing class I attended over the summer of 2009. It was made to be put in a mini zine. The 'story' goes a lot better with the zine and its illustrations.
