Runaway

I could barley hear my footsteps because my breathing was the dominate noise in my ears. I ran through puddles. I ran up hills. I ran down hills. I planned on running till I died. He was dead and I should be to.

I reached the park. I ran through the swings and trough the wet sand, now mud. How could he be dead? He was just alive this morning. I called him and he told me how he loved me. He shouldn’t be dead.

I ran across damp lawns. I ran through shallow rivers and around deep ones. A car crash can’t kill somebody. Specially him. He was strong and intelligent. His car was huge. A little deer couldn’t have done this much damage.

I ran down sidewalks. I ran up into a driveway. His driveway. I got to the door and turned around and ran again. Same places, same pace. I loved him. I would forever run. I’m going to run till I die.
