We're standing on the cliff, where we first met. I feel you trace lines on my face with your hands. They are course, tokens from war. I look at your face filled with scars. How handsome you are. I finally got to see you again. After all these years, years of war. You fought for our country, you brave, brave man. You bend down to kiss me and ……
I sit straight up in bed. I realized it was all a dream. I wept for hours, for you were not with me, you were still away. You were still away. That thought cut me to my core. I didn't think I would be able to stand it much more. I looked at your picture on my nightstand, and wished to god that you would come home soon
