A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.

-So? What is it? – He hovered over my shoulder, glancing at the stick in my hands.
-It needs a moment. – I whispered, my hands shaking as I set it on the counter.
Signing, he crossed his arms.
Would our child also be this impatient?
-So… What do we do if it’s… you know.”
-Positive? – He paled as the words left my mouth. I stared at my feet as the scenarios played out in my mind. – I would keep it.
He nodded, biting the swollen lips.
-Why? – Our eyes met, mine of disbelief and his of curiosity.
-Because I want to. - I closed my eyes. – I’m not going to force you to stay with me. I rather find it a father that will love it because he wants to instead of obligation.
Minutes passed and I finally gained the courage to look at him.
In these eyes appeared a scared boy that I thought was long gone. He was looking away… Searching for an escape.
Escape from this problem… From me.
-It’s ok. – I whispered to myself.
-I just… Never thought it would happen so soon. I don’t feel like a father… More like a boy who made a stupid mistake.
My fist clenched around the fabric of my shirt. – Mistake?
We looked at each other, I felt naked under his stare.
-I want a family… I know we’re young but that doesn’t change anything. I’m afraid as well but this fear will pass…
His eyelids closed. – You mean like making them sandwiches or buying toy cars? – His lips stretched into a lazy smile. They opened, full of a new emotion; happiness. – Ok even if, I’m keeping my video games.
I chuckled. – Come here. – I whispered as his arms embraced me. There was no urge present, only a need for comfort. A warmth to defeat the fear which was sprouting like a vein in our hearts.
A butterfly kissed settled on my lips. – I have one condition though. Don’t spoil him, you know I hate spoiled kids.
-Fine. – I grinned.
-So what about that test? – He looked towards the counter. I left the warmth and picked up the white stick. My fingers froze. – And? What is it?
I should have been happy.
-It’s negative.
But my eyes became wet.

In difficult situations we face a storm raging within. Sometimes it takes us away, leaving our mind behind.
