"Why are you trying so hard to fit in? When you were born to stand out." - Ian Wallace

11:50 p.m. I climb out my window and escape to the roof. The cool crisp air bites my skin. Everything seems busy at the moment: the wind is blowing, the street lights are still changing , dogs are barking, the leaves rustle with only a soft sound. I grab a Pepsi and wait. As the clock strikes 12 a.m. the world just stops. No sound, no wind, now nothing. It's as if life itself has stopped, but about 12:05 the world starts back up. The lights flicker on, the wind starts back up again, and even the dogs begin to bark. I finish my Pepsi in my lawn chair and watch the world pass by. By 12:45 I've climbed into my bed under the warm blankets with my puppy, and fall fast asleep.
