I guess now’s a fine time. I could just jump in front of one of those cars. This place is full of reckless drivers. They’d just hit and run. They won’t even care. Any one will do.

A deep breath. A step back. I close my eyes, but just before I jump-

“STOP!” my breath caught and my eyes shot open. I was staring at the car’s wheels mostly. Whoever that was couldn’t possibly be talking to me, right? I looked across the street and there he was. He shook his head, ever so slightly. He crossed as soon as he could.

He put his arms around me and whispered “Don’t. Please don’t. Did you forget how much I care about you?” I nodded, my tears drenching his shirt, quickly. “That’s okay, because I’m here to remind you.” He kissed the top of my head. “I love you.” He whispered.

“You better not be saying that just because I almost committed suicide.”

“I’m not. I promise.”

I wrote this at like 3 in the morning. That's a thing that I do often.
