She peeked out her window.
She could have sworn someone had been watching; looking down at her from there. But that would be ridiculous, Madeline silently thought. She scanned the sky despite herself but there was no man, woman, nor creature lurking about in the blackened sky. A cold chill slithered down her spine, instinctively indicating that something was very wrong. However, Madeline ignoring her suspicion. She curled back into her thick blanket, scared stiff. But as soon as she sheltered her head with the safety of the blanket, there was a knock on the glass window. Madeline didn’t get up. She didn’t dare crawl out from under the blanket.

After an endless half hour of silence, Madeline drifted off, thinking happy thoughts, avoiding any thoughts of the window and an imagined stalker.
